Very busy with work at the moment but taking a few minutes to share an old post for a Proposal Stories Linky. If you look at my blog archives, you’d see that it only goes back to 2008 even though I’ve been blogging for 10 years because I didn’t import the older entries from my previous blog. But this was written on 18 July 2004 and is the story of how Adrian proposed to me more than 8 years ago:

Had a wonderful, wonderful night at Foster’s. After dinner, we sat there in the cushy armchairs and relaxed to the live music. Just before finishing his set, Joe (the singing man) asked, “Anyone wanna sing?” and, to my tremendous surprise, Adrian got up and went to the mic. And accompanied by Joe on the guitar, he sang…

Then he went down on one knee and out came the ring which he’d been hiding in his jeans pocket the whole night. I was in tears and couldn’t stop smiling. Some nice lady from another table sent us champagne. It was truly a perfect night.

He’d been planning it for ages and the night before, he was there making secret arrangements with the manager and Joe. Of course, it helps that he actually CAN sing. ;) I never thought he’d be able to surprise me like this but he did and I couldn’t be happier (even though I still gave him many fake evil glares for ’embarrassing’ me).
