Anya attended a Science holiday workshop for 3 hours a day from Monday to Wednesday and it seems she had a lot of fun! She was initially reluctant to attend even though her cousin and two friends were going to be there, but by the second morning, she was all like, “Ok, you can go now!” when I dropped her off.
On the first day, they learnt about electricity: they stuck balloons to the wall with static electricity, touched a lightning globe and made their own electroscope. On the second day, they learnt about the eye: they made a shadow puppet and a model of an eyeball and learnt about how images are interpreted by the brain. On the final day, they learnt about the weather: they made and played with snow, experimented with a mist maker, explored a tornado in a bottle and brought home a bracelet with UV-sensitive beads. Hurray for fun Science!
