Bukit Timah Railway Station

The Rail Corridor Open Day was held on Sunday and I was really interested in the guided nature walk by Nature Society (Singapore) from Bukit Timah Railway Station to old Holland Road. But Anya was a little under the weather so we only managed to check out the station.

The Bukit Timah Railway Station is an open-sided single-storey brick building and this was where key tokens were exchanged between the train drivers and the station master. It was gazetted as a conserved building last year and is open to the public from 7am-7pm on weekends and public holidays.

Anya was hot and grumpy during our visit and was only happy when she could pick up rocks along the tracks. I don’t know why but she loves to pick up rocks, sticks and other random things from places of questionable cleanliness.

She was quite okay with walking along the tracks but didn’t want to cross the bridge and was generally whiney until we got to McDonalds’s at King Albert Park and she could have an iced Milo.
