Lombok: Gili Trawangan

We took a day trip to Gili Trawangan while we were in Lombok. Gili Trawangan is extremely touristy but has beautiful beaches and is a good place to snorkel and cycle.

Lombok: Jeeva Klui

Jeeva Klui has a rustic feel and is full of greenery. There are many little spots around the resort to stretch out and laze. It is very conducive for relaxing. We especially liked hanging out at one of the cabanas at 4pm when tea is served. The spa is pretty good too. It’s such an amazing feeling being massaged while looking out at the sea and hearing the waves break on the coast.

Lombok: Our Villa

We stayed in a villa with a pool while we were in Jeeva Klui. I love how a lot of natural materials like stone and wood were used in the building of the villa. The entire place was clean, comfortable and made us feel like doing nothing but relax the entire day. And it’s much cheaper than a similar villa in Bali would have been!

Lombok: Our First Night

The husband and I went to Lombok for a short holiday last week. We arrived in Lombok on Monday evening and were driven to Jeeva Klui Resort. It was quite a long drive, so after arriving and checking in, we had a good dinner at The Waroeng.

We ordered a Sasak cuisine set for two: nasi bakul (steam rice in bamboo basket), rendang sapi (braised beef with red curry sauce), ayam taliwang (grilled marinated baby chicken), udang bakar klui (grilled prawn with chilli dip), sate ikan lilit (minced fish satay), urap sayuran (mixed vegetables with spicy grated coconut), beberuq (spicy baby eggplant and long bean), pelecing kangkung (water spinach and raw sambal uleq) and dadar gulung (stuffed pandan crepes with sweet grated coconut).

Bali Trip: Trattoria

Trattoria is always an easy option to fall back on for a lazy lunch in Seminyak. They even deliver to some of the villas. There’s a branch in 313 Somerset but I wonder if the prices are as attractive as in Bali.
