Children’s Day!

Managed to spend some time with Anya on Children’s Day! We had breakfast with Adrian at Mr Prata then took a stroll over to Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden where she dug in the sand and then played in the fountains. Auntie Vonnie joined us there and It was quite fun until some school groups descended upon us and it got too crowded! So we headed over to Elly at Cluny Court and she got her nails painted for the very first time, got a little picture painted on her hand and ate lots of popcorn. Then it was off to lunch at Compl(e)ments Of but more of that in another post.

Steph Tan Photography ‘Pass It On’ Marathon 2013

We took part in the Steph Tan Photography ‘Pass It On’ marathon last year and were very eager to be part of it again this year. We dragged the kids out of the house and made it to the Tembusu tree in Singapore Botanic Gardens by 8.30am for our half-hour photo shoot. The colours of their matching chevron outfits from ELLY looked really good against the mainly green and brown background!

This took place just 2 days after Adam’s fall so he still wasn’t in the best of moods for the shoot. He was weepy and just wanted to sit in a corner and drink milk. But Steph worked her magic, and with the help of bubbles and dirt, we got some very lovely shots within that short time. By the end of the session, the kids were basically down in the dirt playing with the twigs and dead leaves and such, so Steph captured them in this very organic state. She probably thinks my kids are savages!

My absolute favourite photos from the shoot:

Joel’s 1st Birthday Party

After Kate’s full-month party, we headed to Joel’s birthday party. Two parties in a row is tiring especially after two classes (Anya’s piano and Adam’s gym) and a play (Goldilocks & the 3 Bears) in the morning!

I’d gotten birthday presents for the birthday boy, Sam & Dan and Sophia from Elly’s latest collection and we dressed the kids up for the party in matching outfits. The birthday boy already had an outfit planned so he didn’t join us.

The Playhouse + Showcase of pediped Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

We were invited to the showcase of pediped‘s fall/winter 2012 collection and we were more than happy to attend because I really like pediped shoes. Adam’s very first pair of shoes were a pair of Tyler brown shoes and Anya had a pair of Maggie white sandals that she wore to school (and everywhere else) every day for MONTHS. Clearly, pediped shoes are very comfortable and well-made!

The event was held at Seb’s Bistro & The Playhouse and the kids spent some time playing inside before we came out to watch the kids’ fashion show. It was really cute watching the kids model the pediped shoes in their ELLY outfits! We couldn’t stay that long because Anya had her music class but she had a lot of fun bouncing around on the trampoline before we left.

STP “Pass It On” Portrait Marathon: Pictures

Steph contacted us a mere 2 days after our photo shoot and told us that the photos were ready for selection. We were delighted to see how well the photos turned out and also very impressed that she took all those wonderful photos in just half an hour.

We decided to order a batch of 10 digital files (with printing rights) but it was so difficult for us to choose that we ordered 12 in the end. We also received 10 free small shareable images. The final touched-up images were sent to us 3 days after we made our choice.

Our colour theme for that day (blue, white and a dash of red) stood out very nicely against the verdant backdrop. Anya wore her new Elly dress and Adam’s Château de sable outfit was a recent birthday gift from Uncle Terence.

I’m using one of the images as a new header for the blog and here are a few of the other images:

Elly Store

We didn’t manage to have swim lesson on Tuesday because of the rain so we went over to Cluny Court for tea and visited the new Elly store there. The grand opening is next Sunday, 4 Mar, at 2pm. They will be launching their new collection, Elly Loves Balloons, and there will be storewide 15% discount for that day!
