Tulipmania is back! Visitors to Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay from 14 April – 4 May will be able to see a display featuring Dutch canal scenes, houses and windmills set in the midst of 50,000 gorgeous tulips. The tulip bulbs are flown in from The Netherlands and are in red, yellow, orange, purple and white. To make things even more magical, for the first time in conjunction with Tulipmania, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be flying in Miffy, the beloved Dutch rabbit!

We were invited to plant tulip bulbs with Miffy in preparation for Tulipmania. Sengkang Babies and Cheekiemonkies were there too! It was hard work loosening up the compost and transferring it to the trough before planting the tulip bulbs. Anya enjoyed the process and was happy to use her hands to pat the compost into place around the base of the tulip bulbs. She did her very best to handle the tulip bulbs with tender loving care and to ensure that they were straight and spaced out nicely.

After planting the tulip bulbs, we went outside to wait for Miffy’s arrival. I must confess that I think Miffy is adorable and I was really looking forward to seeing her. When she appeared, I gave a rather undignified squeal of excitement! Anya was so delighted to see Miffy that she kept following her around and even hid behind Miffy when the other visitors were taking photos with the bunny.

I can’t wait to see the tulips in bloom and I’m definitely making my way down to Gardens by the Bay next week for Tulipmania! Miffy will be at Gardens by the Bay again on 20 April for an Easter egg hunt and 26 April for the Tulip Cheer Orange Day Celebrations.
