Lobster Porridge at Orchid Live Seafood

A comedy of errors that’s only funny in hindsight: we arranged to meet my sister, my aunt and Simon for dinner at Orchid Live Seafood. We got there before they did and gloated slightly about the fact that Debs was going to have problems parking when she got there because we took the last lot. After a significant wait, we got a message from Debs asking us where we were. Turns out there are two branches for Orchid Live Seafood and they were at the other branch! Good thing the two restaurants are not that far apart!

Orchid Live Seafood is famous for their lobster porridge. The hot steamy broth was really wonderful on that dreadful rainy day. Digression: every other day in December is a dreadful rainy day! The other delicious specialty is their Steven Chicken named after their master chef Steven. Chef Steven was around that day and seemed to be everywhere at the same time: helping to direct traffic in the carpark, cooking in the kitchen and even serving us food at our table!

The food is all very decent. especially the lobster porridge and Steven chicken, and reasonably priced. We ate in air-conditioned comfort at the Jln Kelulut branch, but I actually prefer the rustic farm feel of their outlet at Bah Soon Pah Rd.
