Lola’s Cafe

I was visiting a friend in the Hougang area on Thursday so I dropped by Lola’s Cafe at Simon Rd for brunch with Anya before that. Lola’s Cafe is a bright and cheerful cafe with friendly staff. It’s quite a small place so it filled up rather quickly even on a weekday afternoon. There’s a little day bed with rainbow cushions in a corner near the entrance and Anya decided to make herself comfortable on it.

The coffee is very decent and the iced tea was refreshing. I love eggs benedict and really liked their version with avocado. The avocado adds a lovely creamy touch to the dish so it could have done with a bit less hollandaise sauce. They have delicious-looking desserts and Anya chose the lemon meringue tart which was quite yummy. I would have liked to try their dark chocolate sea salt tart and the banana earl grey tart!

The prices at Lola’s Cafe are very reasonable, even for their dinner menu, so it’s a pity I’m hardly in that area. Would love to visit again if I get the chance. Meanwhile, read more about Lola’s Cafe and other items on their menu in this blog post!
