I was about to do another food post when I realised that every other post of mine is about food so it’s a wee bit embarrassing! It’s a good thing I’ve discovered something to help with burning some of the calories from the food I can’t seem to stop eating.
Ganban-yoku (rock-bathing) is really popular in Japan and is available at Anti-Oxidant Centre at Thomson Ridge. There are 19 anti-oxidant beds that consist of carefully treated ceramic tiles which release great amounts of Far Infrared Rays and negative ions. The anti-oxidant technology helps to neutralise the effects of free radicals.
Some of the benefits of the ganban-yoku therapy: anti-ageing, reduced cholesterol levels, improved blood circulation, relief of pain and stiffness caused by rheumatism, increased immune resistance, increased metabolic rates and weight loss. In fact, a 45-minute therapy is equivalent to a 5km run!!
I visited Anti-Oxidant Centre last Friday with 8 other ladies and we did 45 minutes of ganban-yoga followed by 15 minutes of ganban-yoku therapy. I haven’t done yoga in ages and the session in the 40° C room was quite an experience.
After our yoga session, we were all very sweaty but we were glowing. I perspired so much and was completely exhausted the next day! But it was a really GOOD feeling!
We were told to drink half a bottle of anti-oxidant water before our session and when we were cooling down afterwards, we got to try some of their special enzyme juices also made with anti-oxidant water. We had dragonfruit and mango and I liked the latter so much I bought a bottle to take home with me.
So on Friday, some of us went down to Anti-Oxidant Centre again and this time we opted to have the ganban-yoku therapy without the yoga. We changed into yukata and spent an hour just resting in the therapy room and chatting.
I love the natural blush I get after a ganban-yoku session and I have shamelessly included a selfie below so you can see the colour in my cheeks.
Special Trial Price! :)
If you want to give this therapy a try (and you totally should!), you can get a $10 ganban-yoku trial (usual price $39) and $20 ganban-yoga trial. This is for first-time customers only and you just have to mention the name of this blog when you make your appointment. You can check the schedule for the yoga classes here.
Anti-Oxidant Home Building
Another very interesting service provided by the Anti-Oxidant Centre is the Anti-Oxidant Home Building solution. This solution can be mixed into home construction materials, such as water-based paint, concrete, plastering or wood finishes during renovation to create a home environment that will strengthen the immune system, reduce allergies, improve respiratory conditions, improve metabolism and reinforce the growth of collagen for an anti-ageing effect.
The anti-oxidant effect of the Home Building solution is powerful enough that raw food substances such as an egg will not rot or decay. The egg in the picture has been there since 31 Dec 2012 and there is no sign of decay and odour! The slice of bread has also been there for months! Amazing!
You can also get a 10% discount for the Anti-Oxidant Home Building solution by mentioning the name of this blog. I’m really quite fascinated by this Anti-Oxidant Home Building solution. When you go to the Anti-Oxidant Centre, observe how young the guy running the place looks (and he’s about my age!) and you’ll definitely be tempted to try the solution for your place.
Can’t wait to go down to Anti-Oxidant Centre again next week for another session of ganban-yoku to relax and detoxify! Many thanks to Beverly for organising! :)
