There’s a new Papa Palheta establishment located at Tyrwhitt Rd, within walking distance of Lavender Food Square. The joint is named Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Bar (CSHH) to pay tribute to the hardware heritage of the site and vicinity.
CSHH Coffee Bar is bright and spacious, the music and air-con are set at the perfect level and the staff is friendly and attentive. I can see myself hanging out here for hours.

We ordered a ham omelette, a raspberry muffin and a slice of banana cake. Anya had a freshly squeezed apple juice and I had a mini espresso with milk.
I think Anya must have liked the omelette because she ate almost all of it and left me very little. The raspberry muffin and banana cake were both quite yummy.

When we went to the back to use the washroom, we spotted the curving staircase. There used to be something similar in my grandma’s old place so we just had to climb up.
The sink and counter in the toilet are very different from the usual and after washing her hands, Anya exclaimed, “Everything in this restaurant is so beautiful!”

Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Bar is at 150 Tyrwhitt Rd and is open from 9am to 7pm, Tuesday to Thursday and from 9am to 10pm, Friday to Sunday. Closed on Monday.
