Adam’s First Haircut

Adam is quite bald but the few strands of hair that he has had gotten rather long so Adrian decided to give him a haircut.

He wasn’t too pleased about the scary buzzy sounds the shaver made and wouldn’t sit still. He also got quite upset that I didn’t attempt to rescue him from the evil shaver so he started bawling.

In the end, we made it through with the help of a steady stream of biscuits. His hair looks a lot better now!

Spruce at the Old Bukit Timah Firestation

I’ve been looking forward to the opening of Spruce at the Old Bukit Timah Fire Station for the longest time since it’s really near our place. It opened a few days ago so we walked over this morning for brunch.

The quality of food over at this Spruce is as good as their original outlet at Phoenix Park and they have done a very nice job with the interior of the fire station.

Matryoshka Madness: Doll in All Dress

Haven’t had a matryoshka post in a long time so I present this super cute dress from ModCloth! I love it to bits but it’s probably too short (and too expensive) for me. :( It’s such a lovely shade of blue and the matryoshka fabric is so ridiculously adorable!

McDonald’s at Ridout Tea Garden

Brought the kids to McDonald’s at Ridout Tea Garden the other day because Anya wanted to go a playground AND wanted to feed fish.

Since I was going to meet Vonnie there, I bundled Adam along as well because he doesn’t get to go out very often. It’s not much fun being a second kid.

The playground at McDonald’s is rather small and a bit grubby-looking but Anya was more than happy to tunnel around inside with Auntie Vonnie.

The playground is enclosed so it’s quite difficult to supervise kids once they are inside unless you climb in after them. And it’s not very well-ventilated inside the tubes so it can get hot!

While they were playing, I hung out with Adam and tried to teach him some tricks. He’s not as keen on performing tricks as his sister was at that age.

Then my aunt came and joined us and decided to bring Adam into the playground too. That made him quite happy.

When Anya finally had enough of the playground, we went to feed the fish and turtles.

I’m not really sure if we’re actually supposed to feed the fish there but at least we brought proper fish food instead of trying to feed them fries!

The water in the pond is quite murky so it’s hard to make out what’s in the water. As far as we can see, there are lots of turtles and at least one big scary catfish.

McDonald’s at Ridout Tea Garden is open 24 hours and is one of the McDonald’s outlets where you can hold a birthday party. It’s quite a pleasant place to hang out with the little ones but it’d be SO much better if they cleaned up the place a bit.

Isaac’s First Birthday!

Isaac had a birthday party on Saturday. Can’t believe he’s ONE already and that it will be Adam’s turn really soon!

To Build A Democratic Society…

I came across one of the Pledge installations on Friday and promptly dragged Adrian and Anya there to take some photos. This was the ‘to build a democratic society based on justice and equality’ one outside SOTA.

There’s quite a bit of human traffic in that area so it wasn’t easy getting a clear shot of the installation without any random pedestrian in the picture.

we like this!

I have a pretty strong ‘collect them all’ mentality and would very much like to took photos of and at the other Pledge installations too!

The Pledge installations are found at ION Orchard, Marina Bay Mist Walk, The Event Plaza @ Marina Bay Sands, SOTA and Esplanade.
