We stumbled upon Zachary’s Smile in the West Village and I ended up buying a dress and some accessories. They carry vintage clothing and labels by independent designers. There were so many things I wanted to try and buy in the little shop! Really nice items and worth a visit even though the lady who served us was super unfriendly.
We spent about 5 hours at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets the day before we left and there were many good deals. We took a bus there from Port Authority Bus Terminal. I bought 2 bags, a whole bunch of wristlets for my aunts and grandma, a belt and boxers for the husband and lots of clothes for the kids. And my Mickey and Minnie Mouse Sing-a-ma-jig! It’s useful to sign up as a VIP member online and print out some coupons before you go. You can get a coupon booklet there with your bus ticket but some of the printed coupons give you better deals.
Another place for outlet shopping is Century 21 in the Financial District. I bought a few pairs of shoes there for myself and the kids. Also bought some kids’ clothing there. Everything else is quite messy so I didn’t bother trying to find and try on any clothes there.
I’ve already blogged about shopping for toys for the kids at Disney Store, FAO Schwarz and Toys R Us. The gift shops in the museums are also good places to find interesting things to buy. And for everything else, there is 5th Ave.
