Anya’s starting school next year so we went to get her uniforms and things the other day. I also ended up buying a pair of bears. I have a soft spot for bears dressed in uniforms!

Le Bon Marché at Alocassia Apartments
We had breakfast at Le Bon Marché at Alocassia Apartments along Bukit Timah Rd on Saturday and Adrian now declares that it’s his new favourite breakfast place. He likes the convenient location, the basement carpark, the spaciousness and the lack of crowds. I like that it’s bright and airy, the servers are friendly and they provide kid-friendly tableware. We both like the food which is tasty and good value for money. A $20 big breakfast set gets you a coffee/ tea/ hot chocolate, butter/ chocolate croissant, and toast/ English muffin with eggs, tomato, mushrooms and bacon/ sausage.
Daiso Sandwich Cutters
I was thinking of buying some Lunch Punch sandwich cutters which are about $20 for a pack of four and available from several local online retailers. But I came across these from Daiso so I bought them instead and I’m really quite pleased with them (and that I managed to save some money)!
Reflections for Adam’s Third Month
Dear Deets, you are now three months old! I’m trying to be less tardy with my updates but I’m still four days late in writing this. It’s been another great month for us!
You are currently 6.8kg and 62.5cm. Carrying you puts quite a strain on my back and arms but I’m happy you’re growing well. It really feels like we are a proper family now. :)
You usually go to sleep on your own at night after being fed and you’re waking up less often at night now than in your second month. You even slept through the night two nights in a row but I think it was because you weren’t feeling too well. We both fell sick this month but thank God it was nothing too serious and we’re all better now. Your day time napping is also more regular and you are now awake for longer stretches.
You are a lot more smiley these days, especially in the morning, and you’re quite talkative too! I like talking to you and listening to you say goo, gaa and pbbt. When you’re bored, you sigh dramatically and if no one bothers about you, you give an impatient shout. I always look forward to seeing your grandaunt in the evening because she can spend hours talking to you and playing with you and it’s a much-needed break for me.
Your sister is still crazy about you and wants to play with you all the time! She’s constantly trying to kiss you and hug you. When we go out in the car, she always nags me to put the sunshade on your car seat up so that the sun won’t get into your eyes. I can’t wait for the day you can both play together although I think that would mean that you’ll be fighting with each other as well.
Keep growing well, my little one. We all love you very much!
Jack and the Beanstalk by The Little Company
We went to watch Jack and the Beanstalk presented by SRT‘s The Little Company last Thursday with Sharon & Heather and their neighbours. We were seated at the very last row of the circle seats but still had a pretty decent view. It was quite an enjoyable performance with lively singing and dancing and there was lots of ‘fee fi fo fum’ which Anya had been looking forward to. I think the giant could have been more… err… gigantic for a greater visual impact. They were generally faithful to the story but tweaked the ending to make it happier for everyone. Anya says she wants to watch their next production which is The Three Little Pigs so I guess it means she enjoyed this one!
Anniversary Dinner at Todai
We dumped the kids at my mum’s and went to celebrate our anniversary at Todai! It’s not a particularly romantic place, I know, but we are practical people and I wanted oysters! There were so many different things to eat that it made my head spin. I stuffed myself with oysters and desserts, Adrian had a good time feasting on the snow crab legs and we were both thoroughly happy!
PS.Cafe at Paragon
I hardly ever go to PS.Cafe because Adrian has something against them. It’s hard to explain so I won’t try. Anyway, I went to the one at Paragon with Angie the other day. We started with the Caesar salad which was yummy. Then we had the Laksa Pesto and the PS. Burger Club. The pasta was tasty but the long beans were strange, like dehydrated vegetables. The burger club was quite disappointing. We had the sticky date pudding and the lemon pudding for dessert. The puddings were good (the sticky date one is better than the lemon) but it was a mistake ordering two. We nearly died from a sugar overload!
After shopping, we went back again for a tea-time snack. We wanted truffle fries but there weren’t any so we ordered the Crisp & Dip. The three different types of dips were so delicious we ordered more bread so we could eat up all the dips.
