Hi-5 fever!!

Ever since we saw the promotional materials for Hi-5 stuck to one of the walls of Marina Square, we knew we had to bring Anya to watch them and hopefully to take a photo with them. She would stick herself to the wall and give high fives to the Hi-5 members every time we passed the wall.

So last Friday, the first day of the live shows, we popped down to Marina Sq and got there an hour before the 7pm show. The queue was really long by then. Although we managed to get into the fenced-off area, we didn’t get a meet-and-greet pass. :( But Anya had fun dancing and waving her arms around anyway.

The next day, as I mentioned in an earlier post, Adrian went to queue on his own 2 hours before the 1pm show and got us a pass as well as front and centre seats!! He’s the best! It was quite an experience but we’re so not going to do this again!! It’s madness!

I want!

no meet-and-greet pass?? :(

we’re so far from the stage!!

Crazy Weekend!

We had a crazy and extremely tiring weekend! Really need to just stay at home next weekend to recover! On Saturday morning, Adrian dropped Anya and I off at Barker Rd Methodist Church for Crystal’s wedding while he headed off to Marina Sq to queue up for a Hi-5 meet-and-greet pass. (Heh.) After the wedding, we rushed down to Marina Sq to watch Hi-5 and take a photo with them. Then it was lunch and her Little Gym session. This was followed by Adrian’s friend’s housewarming at Upper Changi and finally a Sunday School teachers appreciation dinner in the Holland area.

Today, we had breakfast at 40 Hands then Adrian dropped me off at Covenant Presbyterian Church for Daniel & Sophia’s baptism while he headed to his parents’ place. However, Anya cried so badly after I got off the car that she vomited like a merlion and Adrian had to bring her back to the church to meet me. I cleaned her up and we attended the service and baptism then went to Adrian’s parent’s place for lunch. We managed to get a bit of rest there before the ToyBox performance at Loewen Gardens. After that was dinner at my folks’. PHEW!

I’m glad we have nothing planned next weekend!!!

Whiplash

We were involved in a car accident last Thursday. We were happily travelling down the AYE when the driver of the car in front of us suddenly jammed his brakes. Adrian braked as well and we screeched to a stop without hitting the car in front of us. But before we could breathe a sigh of relief, the car behind us hit us and we all jerked forward. :( My first emotion was that of extreme anger that people would drive in such an irresponsible way and put my daughter’s life in danger. I just thank God that she was securely buckled into her car seat. We all got out of the car and I saw that there were a total of 4 cars involved in the accident. I held Anya and stood on the divider and glared at everyone while Adrian took photos and wrote down numbers. She seemed ok and didn’t cry.

On Friday and Saturday, my neck was hurting and I couldn’t tilt my head back without pain. And on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, I had the worst back pain ever and I couldn’t take a deep breath without cringing from the pain. Adrian also had neck pain but Anya still seemed fine.

Today, we went to see a specialist and he examined us. He had to bribe Anya with lollipops to examine her and when he asked her if she had any pain anywhere, she showed him the mosquito bite on her hand. -_- She was wriggling around so much in an attempt to get off his lap that he was very sure from her range of movement that she was fine. Again, thank God. I really don’t mind suffering as long as Anya’s not in any sort of pain or discomfort.

Although Adrian and I are in pain, I’m glad that we are safe and that Anya is ok. And I’m glad I always insist that she stays in the car seat. :)

Anya at the Singapore Philatelic Museum

We went to the Singapore Philatelic Museum on Sunday! They were having an open house so it was free entrance! It was our first time at that museum and I dragged my in-laws along with us. Since they were having some Iron Man exhibition, they had superhero costumes for the kids to put on and take photos in. Tried to get Anya to wear a Supergirl costume but she declined and said, “Put back, put back!”. It was all pretty fun except for a bunch of cosplay people running around who scared Anya ‘cos some of them had scary masks on. Grr..

It’s been 5 years!!

It’s our 5th anniversary! Can’t believe we’ve been married for 5 years! It’s been a great journey! I usually post pictures from the church wedding when it’s our anniversary so here are some pictures just to relive the memories of our wedding dinner:

Look how slim I was 5 years ago!! Where has my tiny waist gone?? Boohoohoo!

Adrian was singing and walking towards me which was why I was standing on my own

Cheers to 5 happy years and many, many more to come! :)
