We are 3!

It’s our third wedding anniversary today! We’ve known each other for 9 years and first started dating 6 years ago. It’s been a really wonderful 3 years of marriage and I’m very happy. :) Since I’m leaving for New Zealand this evening, we celebrated last night with dinner at Margarita’s at Dempsey. We were thinking of going somewhere posh but decided we just wanted to be comfortable and have yummy food. We had their stuffed jalapeños for starters and those little devils took their revenge on us this morning! Too bad I couldn’t have a margarita or a sangria! We also had dessert at Ben & Jerry’s and came home bursting at the seams with food. By our next anniversary, it won’t just be the two of us! :)

I think we should commemorate the occasion with matching hairstyles:

Hahaha! I think I look better with an afro than he does! ;)

Baby News!

I’ve completed 20 weeks of my pregnancy which means I’m halfway through! Yay! I’m very thankful that I’ve been having a relatively easy time and I’ve been healthy. :)

Went for a detailed scan today and the measurements are all normal except that baby is a bit chubby around the middle. Oops. But baby is fine and was busy doing yoga (with hands gripping toes and limbs extended) when we took a peek. We also confirmed the gender of the baby and we’re expecting a GIRL! :) Yes, I know it’s no secret that I would have preferred my firstborn to be a boy but I’m still happy anyway. This girl is just going to have to grow up surrounded by male cousins and friends. We have already decided on a name which we will reveal soon. But Juan’s gonna have to teach me how to plait my girl’s hair and all that when the time comes because I really have no clue!

Went for lunch after the scan and bumped into Jon. He was also at Thomson because Selena’s been admitted and should be giving birth late today or tomorrow! So exciting. Was really hoping that she’d give birth today so that I could pop in and visit her but I guess I’ll have to see her and the new baby another day instead.

Dr Soong says I’m putting on a bit more weight that I should be! I’m quite horrified. I don’t think I’m eating very much more than usual because I’ve always had a healthy appetite. It’s probably what I’m drinking! When I’m not pregnant, I usually drink plain water and Coke Zero all the time. But now that I’m trying to avoid caffeine and artificial sweeteners, I’ve been drinking things that contain a lot more sugar like Sprite, ginger beer, Milo, Vitasoy and fruit juices! Argh. Must control myself and drink only what is necessary and healthy.

Must. Control. Self. ARGH! I feel like this cat:

Wedding & Babies!

It was another weekend of spending time with friends and family. Went to Auntie Iris’s place for some yummy mee siam. Selena hasn’t given birth yet but it should be anytime soon! Also attended Wynne’s wedding dinner at The Fullerton Hotel and met up with some secondary school and JC friends that I haven’t seen for ages. I’ve known Wynne for the longest time; we were in GB in primary/secondary school together and in ACJC choir after that.

Went to the airport to see the students involved in the Hong Kong exchange programme off on Sunday morning and then popped down to Yun’s place to see the babies and the gang.

Busy day!

Yesterday was a busy busy day! I had a coastal fieldtrip with my Sec 3 pupils from 8.30am to 2.30pm and we went to Labrador Park, East Coast Park and Changi Beach Park. After that, I dashed over to Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel (still in t-shirt and shorts!) for Alex’s one-month celebrations! He’s such an adorable baby!

Went home to rest for a bit after that before getting ready to go for Uncle Zai’s wedding. Was looking forward to it because I really wanted to see my cousin Selena! She’s due to give birth next week but doesn’t look big and ungainly at all. The benefits of being tall! By comparison, my colleague who’s due the exact same day looks like she’s about to burst open like an overripe fruit with every step.
