Ahoy to Never Land: Disney Junior Launch at Siloso Beach

We were invited to the official launch of Disney Junior at Siloso Beach, Sentosa yesterday and it was so much fun! Anya has been looking forward to the event ever since I showed her the invite and when she woke up in the morning, we asked her where we were going and she said, “Mickey Mouse’s party!”

We had a bit of time before the event started so we brought out Anya’s digging things and she was quickly joined by some other kids. She attracted the attention of the videographer and some photographers but wasn’t particularly cooperative or expressive in front of the cameras. No acting or modelling career in the works for this one. ;)

The theme of the event was “Ahoy to Never Land” and the kids had a treasure map which they had to complete by collecting stamps at four different stations. There was a short address by Ms Jennifer Ng, the Disney Channels SEA marketing and creative executive director, and then the kids were free to run around like wild pirates to complete the activities at the various stations.

After we got the four stamps (and scored a pirate scarf and eyepatch in the process), we collected our goody bag and got a photo taken for a personalised certificate! The goody bag included a Jake and the Never Land Pirates film camera with a waterproof case and Anya loves it. She left her handprints and name on a huge Disney Junior board and this was followed by the highlight of the day for her: Mickey and Minnie Mouse appearing on stage to take photos with everyone! After we had our turn posing for a photo with Mickey and Mickey, we were asked to hang around because they wanted Anya to be in the photo with the VIPs. She was so happy to be able to get back up on stage to be with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. :)

I’m so glad we got to go to this Disney event because Anya really had a blast and I’m pretty sure she’ll be raving about it for weeks to come!
